FAQ and Q&A

Spoilers AtP and Betwixt and Between.  Some of these were answered in-fic, but I'm leaving them in here anyway for ease of finding.

Q. Why is Xehanort still after Kingdom Hearts?
A. To my understanding, the person who has Kingdom Hearts has ultimate power. Xehanort wants that, despite the risks. Though he assumes he would not be so foolish to lose his heart a second time.

Q. Will I show how they (in regards to previous Organization members) all became Nobodies?
A. Uh... I actually hadn't thought about it much. Maybe I will though, if it comes up.  At this point, I'd have to go back and do it though, as like... backstory.  I'm not too interested in a lot of backstory, so it depends.

Q. Why are they keeping their Organization names?
A. Because I like them better. That's what they all ARE to me. I finished KH2 long before Birth By Sleep came out.  So... yeah...
More detailed explanation: Those working with Xehanort chose to keep their names. Axel has his own reasons. And Vexen's just called by that name.

Q. Is it Xehanort or Terranort?
A. He looks like Terranort. He has not aged because he was a Nobody. And Terra's still inside of him.

Q. Why Is Namine so depressed?
A. Well, wouldn't you be with your history? She has done significant damage to enough people and feels guilty about it.

Q. Does Vexen canonically go to a parallel universe?
A. Yes. He saw a way to run and he did. He ran before Xehanort could ask anything else of him.

Q. Why does Roxas have problems staying awake?
A. His rejoining with Sora was rather tragic. He also spent the last six days of his separated life with suppressed memories. Plus, Namine messing with Sora's memories did not help matters whatsoever.  Also, when he's asleep, his consciousness is operating at roughly the same level as Xion's, so the two of them can actually have conversations sometimes. Granted, Roxas doesn't remember any of this, but he does admit that it's more peaceful when he sleeps. (Thank Namine for that one.)

Q. Why are Saix and Axel such bitter enemies?
A. Axel sees Saix for the fake that he is. Saix sees Axel as a weak traitor. And, in his eyes, traitors must die.

Q. Why are some of them still working with Xehanort?
A. They've been doing it for at least the past 10 years. Besides, they want the power too. Saix DEFINITELY wants the power. And Xigbar is... special. I don't quite get him either.

Q. Is it a running joke that the league formally known as the Organization wants nothing to do with Axel/thinks he's a worthless traitor?
A. Yes.

Q. How are people (besides Kairi and Namine) remembering Xion?
A. Well, Namine is bringing memories of her back, because, guess what? She has the ability to do so.  Though, rarmaster and I joked that it is because Sora just has too much crap inside his heart and stuff is just leaking out.

Q. But hasn't Axel been to Traverse Town?
A. I do not explicitly remember this, but I am willing to admit being wrong if someone proves otherwise.

Q. Why can't Xehanort summon a Keyblade?
A. He sealed that part of him away when he tried to seal Terra's heart. And failed. Nothing particularly has changed since the end of BBS about this fact.

Q. Why is Demyx calling himself Demetrius?
A. Why not? Lol, he wanted to redefine himself and therefore wanted a ridiculously pretentious name. Or, uh, we're going with me taking liberties on what his original name was.

Q. How has Demyx not gotten caught?
A. Sheer dumb luck. Plus, the league formally known as the Organization is a little preoccupied at the moment.

Q. Why do you ship the way you do?
A. Why do you?

Q. How do all the Vexen Replicas (and Vexen) know about Edd?
A. Why not? They're scientists after all. And... well... he's Edd.

Q. Why can't people remember Ven?
A. It probably has something to do with the fact that he has been asleep for so long.

Q. Does Luxord have his powers back like Axel?
A. Luxord no longer has the ability to control time nor the Gamblers because the darkness has not been re-tempered. However, he is still excellent at cards.

Q. But you said only the Keyblade could defeat the Unversed?
A. Yeah, and then I realized how much of a pain that was, so I changed it by making Leon eat his words.

Q. Lexaeus said that Riku must pay, and now he's helping them... wtf?
A. Yeah... I realized that. It's kind of just the way things happened... He had a change of heart?

Q. How come Namine can hear other people's consciousnesses?
A. Because she's special. Sorry, had to. It's because of Sora. Kairi is self-explanatory (they share the same brain/heart.) She can hear Roxas and Sora both because of her connection to Sora. She can also talk with Xion if she were to sleep, but she wouldn't remember it unless she was sleeping when Kairi was awake AND tried really, really hard.

Q. How come Namine can remember her dream trip to the Clocktower, but Roxas never can remember his?
A. I suppose it sort of goes back to Roxas having a slightly muddy memory thanks to the events of Days and that bit in KHII. However, since he spends so much time asleep, his sense of reality is a tad twisted.  Namine, in her attempts to bring back Xion, remembers the crucial points of the conversation because she so desperately wants to.

Q. Why did Peter Pan point at Sora and Kairi so much when he was whispering to Tink?
A. Tink was jealous that Kairi was like Wendy, then Peter explained that Kairi likes Sora and wouldn't get in between Tink and him. (Yes, even Peter sees it.)

Q. Why is it called Hollow Bastion? Wasn't it renamed back to 'Radiant Garden' at the end of KHII?
A. Hollow Bastion is a more fitting name for it currently due to Xehanort's continual destruction of it.  It will continue to have the name 'Hollow Bastion' until it is fully restored.

Q. So why didn't Mickey say something sooner about Aqua?
A. (Aside from the fact that I actually forgot about this little detail until I was writing Neverland I think it was...) So, he ends up answering it himself and says that he had hoped Sora's heart would lead the way. (When he's talking to Yen Sid.) I then pushed back the conversation he had with Sora, Riku and Kairi about Aqua because I didn't want there to be a huge delay between them receiving the information, and then heading off to go do something about it. Because, if there was a delay, I felt that it would be like they were ignoring him. Granted, Xehanort interrupts them, but it's the thought that counts.

Q. Does Namine ever tell Kairi (or anyone) about ALL the stuff she did in Castle Oblivion?
A. She tells Kairi the stuff about Sora out of obligation. She tells Sora enough to apologize. (Well, she will tell him.) She tells Riku everything (she's told him stuff in-game I would assume (note Basement 2). And what she hasn't told him by now, she will eventually tell him.) She tells Kairi a few other things about Castle Oblivion as the subjects came up.

Q. Why didn't she tell Kairi sooner?
A. Guilt. It took her a while to come to terms with what she had done. And, well, the conversation was bound to be awkward. "Hey, Kairi... so I totally made the guy you like think that he liked me instead..." Yeah, in Namine's head, it wasn't going to go well.

Q. Why didn't they run into the Lingering Sentiment in the Badlands?
A. The Xehanort Replica got there first and made sure they would not come across it. (No, it's not dead, I promise.) (If it can get any deader...)

Q. Why didn't Sora ever wonder why he was missing memories sooner?
A. Sora did wonder why he was missing memories and he probably also wondered what history he had with Namine, but he decided it wasn't worth worrying about when he had a whole bunch of worlds to save.

Q. Why did Namine give herself that ability?
A. She didn't see herself as an "in-your-face" fighter, so she gave herself the best defense mechanism.

Q. Why can't Kairi summon a Keyblade of her own until the end?
A. She couldn't summon her own until she had her Awakening.

Q. Why didn't she have her Awakening sooner?
A. Namine is not a Keyblade wielder.

Q. Why didnt' they find Aqua/Terra/Ven until the end?
A. Terra could not be found until Xehanrot was destroyed. Aqua could not be found until they went into the realm of darkness to find her... and they didn't know she was in the real of darkness until Mickey told them. Ven could not be found until Aqua had been found because she is the only person who knows every room in Castle Oblvion.

Q. So why did it take so long to find Aqua?
A. They were unsure how to search the realm of darkness for her because it is so huge. (And there is the little factor that Kairi physically cannot go into the realm of darkness.) A tad selfish? I am aware.

Q. Can Sora dual-wield after he and Roxas are separate?
A. No. (I was actually contemplating him having a spell where he couldn't wield at all, but it never made it into the final draft.) Probably eventually, he will regain that ability, but it is something I have yet to explore.

Q. Why is Namine revered among all the Vexen Replicas?
A. Well, it's not because she has the most replicated data, because I think that would be Roxas. (Minus Xion, who is full replica.) However, she did give 34 and 42 a lot of ideas and info and so she is liked because of that. Plus, in my head, that's just how it works. In rarmaster's universe, Namine is revered because she achieved a true sense of self. Perhaps a little bit of that reverence just rubbed off in my universe.

Q. Why isn't Namine a Keyblade wielder?
A. It has something to do with the fact that Kairi was not *officially* a Keyblade wielder at the time of Namine's creation. Yes, Kairi had the Power, but it had not Awakened inside of her. After Namine's creation, Kairi was halted from having that Awakening because Namine lacked the Power. (Yeah, I know, it's kind of a stretch, but it's how it works.)

Q. Do you know where Zexion went off to after Xigbar let him go?
A. Well, originally, I had him go to Castle Oblivion. However, the idea didn't fit in too well with the other stuff I had going on: like Zexion not wanting to be at CO come final battle.) So, I sent him elsewhere. I kind of liked the idea of him hanging out in Hollow Bastion right under Xehanort's nose, so that's where he went.

Q. Why doesn't Namine mention Repliku?
A. Namine feels that Repliku is a need-to-know thing. he wasn't entirely essential to the story she was telling. Plus, she feels extra guilty about what happened to him and therefore, does not like to talk about it.

Q. If Roxas gave Xion all her memories by touch...wouldn't problems arise later by physical contact between the two of them?
A. No. The first time, Xion was waiting for the memories to fill her. After that point, she was complete and stable. She won't be taking anything of that sort from anyone anymore.

Q. Will Aqua and Terra ever get together?
A. Maybe. It's looking to be more likely than not as of now.

Q. Will Aqua and Ven ever get together?
A. No.

Q. Will Ven find a girl then?
A. Maybe.

Q: What are the enemies of Betwixt and Between?
A: There are a few people, but I don’t want to say too much because of spoiler purposes.  A large part of this will mostly be fighting Heartless and Nobodies.  The darkness is stirring.

Q: Will Betwixt and Between crossover into Dead Inside/Can’t Escape? And, by extension, do I need to read Can’t Escape to understand what’s going on in Betwixt and Between?’
A: In short, yes and no.  All crossovers will be posted in Can’t Escape.  I will notify all of you when chapters are posted there that run parallel to BB.  There shouldn’t be anything posted in Can’t Escape that is ESSENTIAL to the story of BB.  There will be repercussions, but nothing essential.

Q: Will Namine and Riku share a Paopu Fruit?
A: Yes.

Q: When?
A: Spoilers.

Q: Is the discount at the Destiny Islands Inn because Kairi’s dad is the mayor?
A: Yes.

Q: Is Betwixt and Between a fic with a plot and villains? Or is it just fluff and healing?
A: Well, it started out as fluff and healing, but then I developed villains and a plot.  And then it just started developing itself.

Q: Could Namine ride on Riku’s Keyblade Glider along with him?
A: Well, I suppose so.  It’s a thought… but not one that I’m going to explore.  They’ve got star shards.

Q: Will Laguna/Lightning/Yuna/Rikku/Paine show up at any point?
A: Laguna may quite possibly show up.  I don’t entirely have that far planned out.  There’s a point in the story where he COULD appear.  So we’ll see if that happens when we get THERE.  But THERE is a while away.  (Even still.)  If he did appear, he would see Squall and Rinoa, that’s for sure.  Lightning probably won’t appear because I have not played FFXIII and I have a hard time writing for characters that have not showed up in any game that I’ve played.  There is a reference to FFX Yuna on Destiny Islands with Tidus (Escort to the Ball in Plan Beta.)  There is also a reference to FFX-II Yuna, Rikku and Paine (The Call of Darkness in Betwixt and Between.)  They appear in Gullywing form.  Heheh, paradoxically, Summoner Yuna also appears in that same sequence.

Q: Aren’t star shards more unpredictable?
A: Star shards are very unpredictable if you don’t know how to use them correctly.  Even when used correctly, they can be faulty.  OR they can have a habit to take you where you need to go, rather than where you want to go. (Like the TARDIS!)

Q: Will Terra go around to the Worlds to apologize to the people he harmed?
A: Terra will apologize to the people he runs into that he feels necessitate an apology.  However, he is not going to go to each individual World an apologize.

Q: What about Seifer? Will he make an appearance against Leon?
A: The games tied my hands there.  Seifer is in Twilight Town, at an age comparable to Sora’s.  Leon is in Hollow Bastion, and he’s in his late 20’s.  According to the khwiki, neither of them seem to know of each other’s existence.  So, I’m probably not going to go into that.  Not unless I get a really good idea on how to finagle it.

Q: Cursing and the Shadow…
A: (Yes, fail on putting that into question form.) Rar and I do try and keep the charries from cursing as much as possible.  Most of the time, they’re actually worse in our heads than what actually makes it down onto paper.  Axel, Riku and Roxas all curse quite a lot in the novels actually, which doesn’t help keeping things clean in the fics.  As for what actually makes it down on paper, Axel gets away with it more than the other characters in my fics.  Though, I know others have cursed on occasion, but only in specific circumstances.  As for Shad, who is the focus of this question… he writes himself… His favorite phrase is “Why the hell not?” I censor him a lot of the time, but I can’t every time, because it’s actually detrimental to his character.  Plus, the more rar let’s get through, the more I can let get through.  He is her character, after all.

Q: Kuin?
A: Spoilers.

Q) Where is Zexion right now?
A) I may have answered this.  However, currently, Zexion is in Hollow Bastion running a bookstore/library/thinglikesubstance.

Q) You really love Axel, don't you?
A) Yes, I do.  One of the reasons why I started this fic because I refused to believe that Axel was really dead.  So, I figured that if Xehanort could come back, why not everyone else? (Granted, the other reasons for me writing AtP was probably Namine, but, you know, she's only a tad forceful.)

Q) Does Namine have all of her old drawings from Castle Oblivion and Twilight Town?
A) Yes.  She had Kairi pick up her drawings from Twilight Town when they went there in AtP.  She picked up her own drawings from CO when they were there.

Q) Do Marly and Larxene mean trouble for the heroes?
A) I'll let you figure that out :P

Q) One-sided Larxel?
A) Maybe.  Never really thought of it, actually...

Q) What is Xion doing in the meantime of Axel and Roxas going and visiting all these places?
A) Hanging out on Destiny Islands with Kairi and Namine, probably.  Though, it would not surprise me if Riku's mother has started teaching her to cook.

Q) Will Xehanort come back? What if he latched onto Riku?
A) NO! I won't let him! Even if he TRIED to latch onto Riku, Riku would have noticed and shoved him back.  And then I'd have to either rewrite stuff or retcon stuff.  And I'm not just saying no because I never set up for that, but to be completely honest, I'm done with Xehanort.  Besides, Xehanort's still left problems for people to deal with and he's dead.  Even if he DID latch onto Riku and bided his time... Namine'd still notice and do something about it.  She's rather protective over Riku and potential darkness problems.

Q) So how much FF stuff are you doing?
A) Eh, it depends on what you call a lot, really.   I will be doing a lot of stuff in HB throughout all of BB.  Therefore, you'll be seeing a lot of Leon and the gang.  Plus, Squinoa has got some plot lines, Aerith's got some plot lines.  Oh, and Cloud's gonna be dealing with his darkness.  I won't be doing too many of JUST FF people, but there may be a few here and there.

Q) Do I need to have played FF7, FF8, FF10 etc to understand your fic?
A) No.  To be completely honest, I haven't played 10 and I've really only watched rar play 7.

Q) How is Zack alive?

Q) Will Genesis or Angeal be making an appearance?
A) Genesis, no.  I don't know how I could work him in with everything else that's going on.  Angeal, perhaps... depending on how I work things.  Angeal may show up in flashback sequences, perhaps... I know Zack knew Angeal in my universe.

Q) How is the thing with the Buster Sword working?
A) Zack has the real Buster Sword.  Cloud has the Fusion Swords.

Q) What did Axel want from his room when he dropped by The World That Never Was?
A) Oh, some darts for his dartboard, as well as a list of all the worlds he'd ever done recon on.  And the key to Saix’s room.

Q) Who is older, Zack or Cloud? Because Cloud acts older..
A) Zack is older by two years.  However, in some areas, Cloud is more mature because of the things he's dealt with.  Not to say that Zack hasn't dealt with his fair share of crappy things, but he just has a more positive outtake on life, making him seem more like a kid than Cloud sometimes.

Q) Namine can understand Tinker Bell because of the memory-thing, right?
A) Yes.

Q) Could Riku feasibly fall into the darkness again?
A) Yes, if he wasn't careful.  But he's incredibly careful.  However, if Namine is in danger, all bets are off.  He has the propensity to be really reckless with that...

Q) Wouldn't Namine stop him?
A) Oh, she'd sure try.  However, if she was in danger... arguably, she's not in much of a position to do much of anything.

Q) In The World that Never Was, were Roxas and Xion's plates glowing because they were standing so close to them?
A) Yes.  I didn't even realize I'd written that in, it just happened.

Q) Does the fact that FF7 hasn't happened in your universe mean that Zack and Aerith are going to die?
A) Everyone dies sometime.

Q. Riku, when did you become as persistent as Namine?
A. Since he and Tifa sat down in the back of my head and had tea.

Q) Is what Axel does magic? And if it is, how is he NOT blowing through ethers right and left with the way he does his fire shtuff?
A) Yes, what Axel does is, in a way, magic.  However, what Namine does with memories is also magic.  No, it's not 'Fire' or 'Fira' magic.  It's just... what Axel does.  If he REALLY wanted to, he could use 'Fire' he just doesn't because he doesn't have a need to.  He could learn how to use 'Blizzard' or 'Thunder' he just doesn't because they aren't his thing.  But, back to the point, because Axel's magic isn't your typical magic, he's not needing to use ethers all the time.  However, he DOES have a brink/limit/whateveryouwannacallit.  Namine has one.   However, Axel's limit is certainly bigger because he's been at this longer.  That, and he knows exactly where it is and can control whatever it is he's doing at the moment to allow for the limit.  He's too cocky to run out of magic in front of someone else.
(And that last line alone, I think, answers this question.)  However, I will add that Axel's magic is like Sora's and Riku's, in the regards that it recharges itself over time.

Q) Shouldn't Riku be worrying more about his anger than his darkness?
A) Oh, probably.  But is he? No.  Because he's more concerned about his darkness.

Q) Can magic limits be extended with training?
A) Yes.  What does that training entail? I honestly have no idea.  Probably a lot of practice and knowing not to overexert yourself.  (To use game terms, leveling up will do it.)

Q) (Even though this is a possible flaming question, I'm going to answer it anyway) You won't LET Xehanort come back?
A) No.  Granted, I am not entirely pleased with the way I killed him.  It sounded a lot better in my head than it ended up being on paper.  Does that mean I'm going to bring him back and kill him again? No.  It just means that if this were a book that I would consider publishing (it's not, but there are books that I'm working on that are, so I think this way) I would end up reworking that battle sequence to make it better.

Q) (Even though I'm pretty sure this was rhetorical.)  How can Riku be angry and adorable at the same time?
A) He just is.  And I'm sure Namine has nothing to do with that whatsoever.  *whistles innocently*

Q) Why was there only one random Dancer in Neverland?
A) Oh, I'm sure I had a good reason for it when I wrote it... erm... I know that I didn't want it to be Dusks, because Dusks are overused.  I am going to answer now with: it's just a random Nobody that got lost after it lost its leader.  Many Nobodies are rather displaced at the moment because no one's controlling them.  Axel's the only one with the power to do so.  Oh, and Xigbar (momentarily forgot he was still alive and now he's frowning at me.  But hey, it's not my fault he wants to stay undercover at the moment.)

Q) Will Peter and the Lost Boys ever learn magic?
A) Maybe.  I haven't explored that option.  If, however, they don't learn magic, I am sure that they will come up with other more unorthodox manners of killing any Nobody that finds its way to them.

Q) Does Namine lose the ability to see memories when her magic is low?
A) Yes.  I imagine it would be something to the effect of submerging Toph from Avatar in water with no earth nearby.

Q) Shouldn't Riku have a shadow?
A) Well, at first I was going to say that no, his darkness never got to that point.  But then I realize that it did.  However, when it did manifest itself into a separate being, it took on the form of Ansem (Reverse/Rebirth) and Riku promptly killed it.  Oh, and he called it smelly.  Or, as rar and I are discussing currently, you could argue that Riku's darkness didn't have enough time to form a shadow and whatever darkness WOULD have done that, Ansem took and, as I mentioned before, Riku called him smelly, and then killed him.

Q) You do realize that Xemnas and Xion don't have graves in Proof of Existence, right?
A) Yes.  I never said that Xemnas' was like the others, I just mentioned that it was a gaping black hole.  Which I figure is what the doorway-like-substance would look like after Sora and Riku did what they did.  Also, I gave Xion a 'grave' for my own canon.  I figure you could just argue that Sora didn't see it because no one remembered her.  It likens back to how Xion's door in the Hallway of Bedrooms had an 'X' over it and no one thought anything of it.

Q) Will Shadow end up in my universe at some point?
A) No, because of his weird plane of existence, he can't travel between universes.  Which is the answer rar and I have come up with because we don't want to think about the havoc he could possibly cause.  It just wouldn't work very well.  That is not to say that my characters can't still run into him in her universe.  Which is where all the fun is anyway.

Q) Hasn't Riku killed people in cold blood before?
A) Heheh... Oh, I have just been WAITING to answer this question because it's fun.  Technically, he hasn't--if you assume that 'killing in cold blood' means that he killed for no reason other than the sake of killing them.  For the heck of it (and because rar and I took the time to talk about this) here's a list of people Riku's killed and the reasons why it doesn't count as cold blood:
(Note, Heartless/Nobodies/Unversed (even bosses) don't count.)
-Lexaeus: Well, this was certainly a low blow, however, in the moments before Riku actually killed Lexaeus, he was possessed by Ansem, so it doesn't really count.
-Repliku: You could honestly call this self-defense.  Because Repliku walked into that battle with the understanding that SOMEBODY was going to die.  Besides, he didn’t actually die in my canon :P
-Ansem: I don't consider this killing in cold blood because of who Ansem is.
-Xemnas: See above explanation.
-Maleficent: Okay, this is one that I could actually see as counting as killing in cold blood.  Considering they went TO the World that Never Was SPECIFICALLY to go after Maleficent.
That one Xehanort Replica: First, see the explanation for Ansem.  Then add the fact that Kairi was in danger and Sora was angry.
**Sidetrack! The First Xehanort Replica that Sora killed? THAT was actually more cold blood than what Riku did.  The one Kairi and Namine killed was self-defense.  The one Stitch killed is arguable.  The one Axel killed was certainly in cold blood--but Axel also lacks morals.  The second one that Sora killed... eh, not so much cold blood as the first one was.
**Back on track!
-Xaldin: Self-defense.
-Xehanort: He's Xehanort.  It just doesn't count.

Q) Why was darkness expelling itself? (In Enchanted Dominion)
A) Technically, this was answered in the story, but just in case it was unclear, it wasn't darkness expelling itself at all.  It was actually a manifestation of Heartless trying to go for the Keyhole.

Q) Will Vanitas be coming back?
A) It would take a lot of finagling for me to get him to, considering in my canon, when Ven and Van fought and Ven won, Vanitas pretty much disappeared.  Ven kinda lacks darkness in his heart now as a result of it.  I mean, it's possible for him to have SOME because Sora's not pure light and Sora was the one who healed him.  However, I doubt that darkness is enough to bring Van back.

Q) So they could theoretically use star shards to just go to where the enemies are?
A) Yes.  But that would also require knowing exactly who their enemies are, and the enemies staying in one place for any length of time.  Oh, and it would also require someone thinking of it, which will take a while.

Q) How is Roxas immune to Axel's fire?
A) Pure and simple: being around it for so long.

Q) Will Kuin remain a secret forever?
A) No, to Axel's chagrin.

Q) How much would you say everyone's fighting styles have changed/improved?
A) Considerably, especially if you're saying the beginning is KH1.  No, they haven't changed much since the end of AtP, it's only been a few weeks.  Have they improved a lot since KH2? Yes.  KH1 certainly!

Q) Could you consider Namine to be Riku's light in a way that Kairi is Sora's?
A) Yes.  The metaphor is not EXACTLY the same, but the same basic idea is there.

Q. Ophelia and Rupert? Were they in a Disney Film?
A. Nope.  I made them up.  Snow White never had a sequel.  But, I figured that since Snow White's story took place in BBS, she HAD to be married by now.  It wasn't far-fetched for her to have two small kids, either.  I mean, BBS happened...12 or 13 years prior to this.

Q. Can Wayfinders make you turn into orbs of light?
A. Technically, no.  Well.. that's kinda what it looks like.  But Wayfinders do have the capacity to act LIKE star shards if the bonds between a set of Wayfinders if the magic bonds are strong enough.  Terra, Aqua and Ven have a set of Wayfinders.  It's an unbreakable connection.  When Aqua was in trouble with the Heartless going after Snow White and Ophelia, Terra and Ven were called to be there as well.  It's kinda like how the strength of Kairi's Lucky Charm given to Sora opened up the Door to the Light and brought Sora and Riku back from the Realm of Darkness.

Q. What did Xehanort do to Kuin's home?
A. Leveled it.  He completely destroyed it with darkness.  He brought about a genocide of an entire race.  He didn't want Kuin's people standing in his way.  However, Kuin escaped.  (Obviously.)  It's not all that odd that she's afraid of seeing him again, now, is it?

Q. Did the star shard take Axel directly to Kuin's house?
A.  Yup.  About where her living room would be.  Like, imagine that picture sitting on the mantle above the fireplace...

Q.  Where did Ienzo get the "A History of Xehanort" book?
A.  No exact clue.  He could have easily written it, now that I think about it.  I think the more appropriate question is "how does he have such a book?" so I can simply just answer magik.
**SIDETRACK! In Disney, it is appropriate to answer such a question with "oh, it's because of the magic."

Q. Will you be making new Keyblades?
A. Short answer, yes.  I know Ven will get one and so will Xion.  I'm not sure about anyone else however...  I know that there is the potential to find stronger Keyblades, but I wonder if, perhaps, the Keyblades themselves just get stronger as the heart that wields them get stronger.  Keyblades do reflect the heart, do they not?

Q. What are 27 and 34's jobs, exactly?
A. 27 is in charge of the security in Castle Oblivion.  34 is in charge of the remaining Replica Program.  42... does random experiments with whatever the heck he feels like.  He's also the one responsible for any Rewrites to Namine that need to be done.  (Of which only one has happened so far, but still.)

Q. Does Kuin always refer to Xehanort as "HE"?
A. Yes.  She refuses to speak of him by name.

Q. Is Kairi actually going to get revenge on Selphie for the comment she made to Sora about Kairi wanting to start a family?
A. Probably not... I don't have anything written for it.  She'll probably just let it go, only saying that when she did because she was really embarrassed.

Q. Aren't Sora and Kairi a little young to be thinking about family planning?
A. Yes.  Yes they are.  Backing up a little though, Selphie DID actually take what Kairi said out of context.  Kairi mentioned to her that starting a family wouldn't be out of the question even though she's a Keyblade Wielder.  Selphie took that to mean Kairi was planning on getting married to Sora and starting a family.  Girls do crap like this.  I was planning a family in high school... (or, planning to have a family when I was Kairi's age at least...) Some girls do actually talk about this stuff.  But yes, Kairi and Sora are too young to be thinking about that sort of thing SERIOUSLY.  If anyone's going to be thinking about starting a family, it's someone in the FF gang.

Q. Can't Roxas summon Two Become One?
A. Oh, we are back on the subject of Keyblades! (Not that it's a problem...) Anyway.  Yes, Roxas can summon Two Become One, so can Sora.  However, either boy HAS to be already holding BOTH Oblivion and Oathkeeper.  Because, in my canon, Two Become one is the combination of those two Keyblades.  (I'm not sure if it's officially that in KH canon, I thought it was, but now I can't find where it says that... so I'm not sure.)  But, in my canon, it is.  SO! That blade can't be summoned unless Roxas or Sora's already holding the other two blades.  So, Sora could have summoned it, if he felt like it, but he didn't at the time.  Why would they want to go from two blades to one? Well, let's just make Two Become One doubly powerful.  (In the event that the boys regain the ability to dual-wield on their own without Limits or Drives, it will be beneficial to have that Keyblade along with another one.)  Also, this is why Riku found it surprising in AtP when Sora had Two Become One, Oathkeeper, and Oblivion for that one Ultimate Drive Form.  Not that Riku's surprise lasted long, because he disappeared shortly after that.

Q. (Because I know you're now thinking it...) When will Sora and Roxas regain the ability to Dual-Wield outside of Limits and Drives?
A. Eventually.  Because I like the concept.  But I have to get around the fact that no one has someone else in their hearts anymore.  And I don't have a good enough explanation yet.

Q. Where does Aerith get all of this fancy stuff? And how the heck do her dresses fit Kairi, Namine and Xion?
A. Magic.  I mean, as for the dresses, I suppose you can say that in Aerith’s slightly younger days, when she was in her teens as opposed to her twenties, that she was roughly the same size as the three other girls.  Granted, Namine is probably rather tiny when you put her next to Xion and Kairi because, I simply imagine Namine as being TINY.  (Like, as if she just wasn’t fed at all when she was a Nobody and she’s never going to make up for that.)  Even Xion’s just slight and small in my head.  I imagine Kairi to be rather curvy.  *shrug*

Q.  Where did Aerith get all the dresses and stuff?
A. Aerith strikes me as the type of person who would collect things like that because she figures she'd be able to use it someday.  Therefore, when people are like "Hey, do you have such-and-such for me to borrow?" she can be like "Yeah, sure, do you want this, this or this?"

Q. Why didn't Kairi want to be the center of attention at the dance?
A. I was getting the feeling from her that Kairi was so tired of being the center of attention (being the mayor's daughter and all) that she just wanted one night where she was normal.  Her solution to that was to make Namine the center of attention.  At first, Namine protested because she felt that she didn't deserve it, but then Kairi smacked her out of that.  Shortly thereafter, Namine was so caught up in all things Riku that she stopped paying attention to everything else

Q. Did Tidus and Wakka bring Yuna and Lulu to the dance?
A. Yes.  Yes they did.  Woo FFX references! (I can make them even without having played the game.)

Q. Why did Sephy come to the school dance?
A. Sephy showed up at the dance because Cloud was there.  He only wanted to mess with Cloud.  He wanted to mess with Cloud in front of all of Cloud's friends.  He was confident enough in his own abilities that he figured he could handle anything that Cloud or any of the others threw at him.  He did not account for Rinoa just teleporting him elsewhere, however.

Q. Can Kairi and Namine block each other's thoughts out?
A. Yes.  It's not an exact science, but they'll be able to figure out how to control it better in the future.

Q. Do you like writing FF characters?
A. Yes.  They're fun and different.

Q. Why is Cloud so stubborn?
A. He's tired of his friends getting hurt, so he wants them to stay out of the way.  He'll have to get over that eventually.

Q. What would Sora and Riku have done if Kairi and Namine HAD been hit by the light fixtures? Could they have potentially hurt Sephiroth?
A. Well, they certainly would have gone after Sephiroth and nothing would have been able to stop them.  Would they have harmed Sephiroth? Maybe.  They probably would have gotten a couple scratches on the guy.

Q. How does Larxene expect to win against everyone? They've all gotten much stronger since the last time they fought, have they not?
A. Well, Larxene's gotten stronger too.  By her own power she regained the ability to form dark corridors AND she got her lightning powers back.  She didn't use any magic and that potion that Morgana gave her probably didn't do anything either.  She's angry, she wants revenge... I can't say anymore for spoiler purposes.  But you'll see soon.

Q. Why didn't Larxene try to assassinate Ariel while she was in Atlantica?
A. Larxene's not after assassinating random people.  She wants revenge on Sora and Axel.  Oh, and Namine.

Q. Do the star shards take magik's charries to rar's universe to help out over there because it's in more turmoil?
A. Yes.

Q. Are we in the third Pirates movie, plot-wise?
A. Pretty much, yes.  I'm not strictly following them because I don't want to rehash plot from movies in my fanfics.  You'll see bits and pieces though.

Q. Does everyone know about Repliku? Has Namine told them?
A. By now, she has.  Even if I haven't written it out, she has.

Q. Will Chernabog be showing up at any time in either universe?
A. I have no plans for him to show up, but you never know what could happen.  As for rar, well, I can't speak for her on this one... I don't know.

Q. Is there a Kuin in rar's universe?
A. No.

Q. Why was Axel taken to the parallel universe?
A. Remember the bit about star shards taking my people to rar's universe to help with turmoil? Yeah, this was one of those times.

Q. Do Larxene Replicas want Namine destroyed?
A. Yes.  The real Larxene wants the real Namine dead too.  It's one of her quirks.

Q. Have you seen Dead Fantasy?
A. Yes, actually, I have.  Mega inspiration from it.  I subscribed to the creator of it, MontyOum.  I also watch him on deviantArt and follow him on Twitter.  He's a pretty cool guy.  I'm very excited for the next Dead Fantasy episode to come out.  However MontyOum's a busy man, so I have to be patient.

Q. Are Sora and Roxas still in different layers of mind?
A.  Absolutely.  Sora is still operating in a super-hyper state, which makes it harder for him and Roxas to be telepathic.  Plus, part of what makes Namine and Kairi so telepathic is the fact that Namine is so special.  And, I mean, Kairi is special too.  Sora and Roxas COULD be telepathic, if they tried hard enough.

Q. How did Larxene get her powers over electricity back?
A. Rage and anger.  Same thing with her ability to form dark corridors.  Rage and anger.  Beast did the same thing when he went after Belle in KH1.  Larxene's just doing that on a regular, unhealthy, basis.

Q. Will Larxene try and get other ex-Organization members on her side?
A. Well, she got Marluxia.  She's not going to try for Demyx (excuse me, the great Demetrius) or Luxord.  She'd have to run into Xiggy, and he's off doing other things right now.  Ienzo's perfectly content where he is.  Vexen's not leaving the other universe.  Axel, Roxas and Xion would have to have gone crazy to follow her.

Q. What is Larxene's goal in all this?
A. Revenge.  She's pissed.

Q. Will Kairi and Roxas talk more?
A. Um... I wasn't even aware that they hadn't been talking all that much.  I'll probably have a scene with the two of them, I mean, there's combos to explore!

Q. Marluxia is too cunning to be wrapped around Larxene's finger, what's up with that?
A. Well... as I'm writing him, Marly's coming across as a bit crazy.  I'm thinking the change in Nobody-to-Somebody status addled his brain a little bit.  I haven't had much of a chance to fully explore everything yet.  It would not, however, surprise me, if he is just playing Larxene and busts out with something incredibly maniacal.

Q. Will there be MarlyxLarxy shippage?
A. Only if they start shipping themselves.

Q. Why did Riku, Roxas and Xion let Marly and Larxy go?
A. There really isn't the motivation to kill Larxy and Marly yet.  They're just annoyances at this point.

Q. Do Roxas and Sora have an epic combo on the scale of Final Resort?
A. Sadly no.  Roxas and Sora have Final Form, and a better version of Magic Hour.  They both glow white with light and then shoot off in different directions, sending off pillars of blue-white light.  Roxas is really good at directing the pillars for damage, Sora's just good at causing damage in general.  As all this is going on, they each gain a second Keyblade apiece made entirely of light.  You can see this combo in Chapter 4 of Betwixt and Between.  Granted, it's only a paragraph, but it's there.  There's probably room for improvement on the combo, though.

Q. Will there be a limit with everyone involved?
A. Well... that would be tough to orchestrate, to be completely honest.  That's a lot of people with a lot of different strengths and weaknesses.  I can brainstorm on it, but I make no promises.

Q. Is Yuffie going to get paired with anyone?
A. No.

Q. Is there a significance to the only Pureblood Heartless thing?
A. Yes.  It may not be this great-huge thing.  But there is a significance.

Q. Is Maleficent currently causing problems?
A. Maleficent is currently dead.

Q. Why didn't the Lion show up in Kairi and Namine's Limit? It can't be a lack of power, can it?
A. No, but it can be a lack of something else.  You'll find out soon.

Q. What's causing the imbalance?
A. It's Xehanort's fault.  He's dead and he's still causing problems.

Q. When will Kuin meet the rest of the gang?
A. Well, she’s slated to meet Roxas in an upcoming chapter (haven’t quite written it yet, but it’s next on the list.)  After Roxas though, no plans.  Sorry.

Q. Kairi mimics blood-bending actions when she summons light forms, doesn’t she?
A. Yes.  It’s the same motions.

Q. Do both Kairi and Namine know what’s going on during that combo, or is it just Kairi?
A. Both of them know what’s going on.  Namine can make comments about what is happening and what Kairi is doing.  I would like to think that even when Sora’s Driving, the friend he’s joined with at the time knows what’s going on so that it’s not a horrible disadvantage to them when they come back.  Otherwise, they’d have to regain their bearings.  Of course, I myself have written a continuity issue with that because Kairi makes the comment that “Larxene’s still here” after Sora’s out of Valor Form.  (And, to top it all off, Sora was under the impression that Kairi wouldn’t know that he’d dual-wielded.)

Q. Is there anything special about the lack of Emblem Heartless?
A. I think I’ve answered this before, but… yes.  Yes there is.

Q. How does Namine drawing events work?

Q. Why does Mickey blame himself for the imbalance at Disney Castle?
A. Because he hasn’t been there to protect it.

Q. How likely/possible was it that Kuin and Axel stumbled across the Keyhole?
A. Generally speaking, Keyblade Wielders are the only sentient beings that can find Keyholes. (Obviously, the darkness can worm its way in and take over…) However, given the fact that the darkness was close to getting this one, and it’s Kuin’s job to keep the balance, the universe sent her there.  Axel followed her, so he was there.

Q. What is Hades up to?
A. Causing havoc.

Q. Since when can he control the Dusks?
A. Since rather recently.  The Dusks recognize him as a viable master.

Q. Was Hades behind the Thorn in Disney Castle?
A. Possibly.  It may just be a coincidence, however.  There has been an imbalance, after all.

Q. Alex and Justin are from Waverly Place, I take it?
A. Yes.  Absolutely yes.  They’re still Disney, and I wanted to use some people that hadn’t already been introduced to KH.  Wizards of Waverly Place is actually a pretty good Disney show.  Of course, it’s done airing now… but… yeah… still!

Q. Who DID create the magical invitations?
A. It was Mickey.  He’s a more powerful sorcerer than you might think.

Q. What’s with the different spellings of ‘magic’.
Well, to put it simply, 'magic' is used in my KH fic, but 'magik' is used in my book.  Since I had charries from my book appear in this scene, their magik was obviously going to be magik with a 'k'.  Everything else was still magic with a 'c' though.  Make sense?

Q. Will your OC’s be appearing again in this fic?
A. Erm… maybe.  I don’t anticipate them appearing again, but, you never know.  Magikal things could happen.

Q. Will I be making my own Command Styles?
A. Maybe.  Doing something like that requires extra thinking when I TRY to do something like that.  When I'm writing a scene and something just HAPPENS, it's a lot easier.  So... we'll see.

Q. How long have I been keeping Kairi’s connection to Keyholes under my hat?
A. Not too long actually... she came up with it as I was writing.

Q. Couldn't Terra be able to teach Command Styles because of Master Eraqus being in his heart?
A. Sadly no… the connection is weaker than that.  Master Eraqus' heart is fading.  It spent pretty much ALL of it's energy protecting Terra from Xehanort over all those years.

Q. Does Leon feel guilty that Rinoa’s there? (for whatever reason)
A. Yes, he does.  There’s a small part of him that’s afraid that BECAUSE a strong fighter like Rinoa is just camping out in Hollow Bastion, it’s attracting more powerful enemies.

Q. Can the Namines be telepathic with each other?
A. Well... um... I know that there's a certain level of telepathy that each Namine has with other characters... however, since they've never met each other... that's not something we've really discussed... It might be one of those things that we decide, and then Namine changes.  (She does that a lot.)  I would certainly say that they'd have some sort of connection and understanding between each other.

Q. Why does one character have two different birthdays across universes?
A. I kept badgering Rar to answer this, but she never did.  Um... well... it was just like, 'enough else is different between the universes, what if this was one of the 'different things'?'  So... we each came up with a different birthday for the two of them.  Yes, my Kairi's birthday is also Valentine's Day.  (Or at least, as it's celebrated in the US.)  I think it's appropriate.  Heheh.

Q. Will the TWEWY cast appear?
A. Probably not.  I usually only include characters from games I've played/movies I've watched.  Since I've never played any of the TWEWY games... Idk.  I do inculde characters from Final Fantasy games that I haven't played, but they have shown up in Kingdom Hearts.  *shrug*  Though, I haven't played 3D yet, so that point is still moot.

Q. Is everyone pretty much aware of the parallel universe?
A. Yes.

Q. Why are the meetings/crossovers becoming more frequent?
A. Slippery slope.  They’re happening more often, which causes more to happen.  Now that the universes have established a pretty strong connection between the two of them, people get dragged across the universe boundaries for the purposes of helping one another.  (I feel the desire to type up something really Doctor-y with the spacey-wacey stuff… but I feel that would be inadequate.)

Q. Is DiZ STILL in the Realm of Darkness?
A.  Yes.

Q. Why is it, that during Kairi and Namine’s Limits/Combos, they become like one person while the other people remain separate? (Sora’s Drive Forms not included)
A. It has something to do with how Kairi and Namine’s hearts are aligned.  The reason why Sora and Roxas don’t align during Magic Hour+ is because that Combo allows for them to be separate and stronger because of that.  If, however, Sora and Roxas were to use one of the charms that Aqua had given the group, they would become one body like Kairi and Namine do for Wingblade.  (Plus, I want to kind of stick close to MontyOum’s Dead Fantasy Namine.  And, naturally, Kairi would disappear in this combo because Namine disappears in the Limit.)

Q. Why didn’t Axel kill Larxene? Or at least attempt to?
A. Because that was more effort than HE was willing to put out.

Q. Is TWTNW going to fall into complete darkness?
A. I don’t know yet… It’s a recent development that I haven’t explored fully.

  1. Star shards are like the TARDIS! With the taking where you need to go and not where you want to go thing. Yeah.

  2. It is entirely possible that that's where I got the idea.
